The ABA Children’s Immigration Law Academy (CILA) invites you to a webinar presentation on federal litigation in immigration cases.
The presentation will give a broad overview of: Administrative Procedures Act (APA) claims, writ of habeas corpus, writ of mandamus, petitions for review, Equal Access to Justice Act (EAJA) fees, the Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA), Bivens actions, and Section 1983 suits.
The presenters are experts in immigration litigation in federal courts. Geoffrey Hoffman is a Clinical Associate Professor and Director of the Immigration Clinic at the University of Houston Law Center. Susan Watson is an experienced attorney at Texas RioGrande Legal Aid (TRLA).
The presentation aims to provide a summary of federal litigation avenues for immigration practitioners. It is especially important today to stay informed about viable federal claims in order to protect the client’s rights and build a complete record in the event federal litigation is necessary.
