Every four months, CILA offers day-long trainings covering a wide range of topics related to unaccompanied children. Topics include best practices in working with unaccompanied children, ethical obligations in representing children and substantive legal issues related to common forms of relief including SIJ applications and asylum law. In addition, four to six times a year, CILA offers hour-long webinar trainings on varying topics.
CILA regularly seeks accreditation for their activities as CLE’s through the State Bar of Texas. For live trainings, only those attending in person can receive CLE credit, but audio recordings or the trainings can be accessed below and are available for use at any time. Past webinars can be viewed for up to one year from the date of original recording and self-reported for CLE credit. ERC trainings are not available for CLE credit. They are intended for limited use by those serving an ERC facility, either as staff at a legal service provider, or as an attorney volunteer.
